Human Behavior
"Human Behavior Series” A collection of found surveillance photographs from the 1960s, arranged in patterns that resemble early computer punch cards. This series juxtaposes analog surveillance with modern AI-powered monitoring, exploring the evolution of privacy violations. By combining analog aesthetics with digital implications, Georgopoulos bridges past and present concerns about societal control and individual freedom. Taken with a telephoto lens from above the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue in Hollywood in what appears to be the 1960s, the 100 images were selected for their voyeuristic nature of mundane daily tasks. James Georgopoulos uses 8 bit computer tape to stencil gold paint onto the silver gelatin photographs, which he has hand-tinted.silver gelatin hand toned prints, archival paper, metallic paint.
